In December 2017 we opened on I Street believing Indian food in this city deserved more ambition. A modern take, with dishes like Nirvana 37 and lobster masala, a bar program people came in for on its own, and a dining room that made any night feel like an occasion.
 When we started, modern Indian in DC was a short list. It’s a long one now, and we’re proud to have been early.
Almost nine years later, the Michelin Bib Gourmand is still on the wall, the kitchen still grinds its own spices, and we still give back to the community that’s supported us.
But just like every dish and every menu, every restaurant has a shelf life. So, after service on Saturday, October 17, Karma | Karizma will close for about 10-12 weeks to make some necessary repairs and updates, to the space and to the concept.

Thank you for nine years of birthdays, first dates, business dinners, and late tables nobody wanted to end. Karma has always been about what you put into the world coming back around.
